Title : Results and outcomes of cardiovascular disease risk factor management and early screening
Abstract:
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. This review synthesizes findings from key clinical trials and epidemiological studies to evaluate the impact of early screening and management of major CVD risk factors, including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, obesity, and arrhythmias. Evidence from trials such as SPRINT, JUPITER, UKPDS, and Look AHEAD demonstrates that early identification and targeted intervention significantly reduce the incidence of heart attacks, strokes, and cardiovascular mortality—often by 20-40%. Additionally, comprehensive programs like the CRISP study illustrate the effectiveness of multi-faceted screening in reducing long-term CVD outcomes. The analysis underscores that early and proactive management of risk factors not only improves health outcomes but also reduces healthcare costs. These findings support the integration of routine screening into clinical practice and public health policy to mitigate the global burden of cardiovascular disease.
