Biography:
Dr. Abderrahim Oulhaj is a Professor of Biostatistics and the former chair of the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology at Khalifa University, UAE. With over 25 years of experience in academic and clinical research, he currently leads a comprehensive clinical research program, training more than 140 medical residents in Abu Dhabi. Dr. Oulhaj earned his PhD in Statistics from UCL University in Belgium and previously directed the PhD Program in Public Health at UAE University. Before moving to the UAE, he served as a Senior Statistician at the University of Oxford for nearly a decade. During this period, he was the lead biostatistician on major projects, including the Oxford Project to Investigate Memory and Ageing (OPTIMA), and the EXenatide Study of Cardiovascular Event Lowering (EXSCEL). Dr. Oulhaj has contributed to numerous national and international research committees and is currently a member of the steering committee for the POCCardio project, a large clinical trial funded by the European Union.
