Biography:
Bijoy Krishna Banik is a Ph.D. research scholar in the department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at NIPER Guwahati with a pharmacy background. His research centres on cardio-oncology, dissecting molecular mechanisms of cardiomyocyte injury and developing cardioprotective strategies. He is proficient in cell culture, qRT‑PCR, Western blot, ROS and mitochondrial assays, apoptosis assays, siRNA knockdown, and rodent models of DOX‑induced cardiotoxicity with echocardiography, histology, TUNEL, and oxidative stress measurements. Current work targets redox‑regulated pathways (NOX4, Nrf2, HO‑1) governing ferroptosis and inflammasome activation. He seeks translational collaborations to mitigate cardiotoxicity while preserving anticancer efficacy.
