Sports Cardiology
Sports cardiology is an emerging field that focuses on the cardiovascular health of athletes, both amateur and professional. It aims to assess, monitor, and improve the heart function of individuals who engage in intense physical activity. Cardiologists in this specialized field evaluate how rigorous training and competitive sports impact heart health, identifying any underlying conditions that may pose a risk during high-performance activities. Sports cardiology also plays a key role in the prevention of cardiovascular issues in athletes, providing tailored fitness plans and monitoring tools that optimize heart function. This field not only ensures athletes' safety but also enhances performance through cardiovascular health optimization.
